ROSTERED PLAYERS: WELCOME TO THE TEAM!

**Rostered players must pay the $225 ASD activity fee online in Q/Zangle**. This is a school district requirement. If you need a fee waiver, please see the Dimond Activities Office asap.

 

Please check the "game schedule" tab above for JV and Varsity practice times which begin Monday of Spring Break, March 9 2026. Subscribe to the varsity or JV calendars to get practices, games, and special events on your phone! 

 

Rostered players and families, please plan to attend the team Kickoff Meeting, Thursday March 19, 6-7pm, in the Dimond High School MPR! Be there - lots of important info will be shared!

FEES & 10 PRACTICES REQUIREMENT

In order for a player to be eligible to play in the first competition, a player must pay the district activity fee, and have attended 10 practice days before their first game. ASAA rules set the requirement, and they do not give any waiver for any other activity. If you do not have 10 practices completed by the first scheduled game, you may be benched until you have attended 10 total practices.

 

PRACTICE GEAR & WEATHER

Practices may be indoor or outdoor (practices move all-outdoor after April 20). Players must have appropriate footwear (indoor/futsal/gym shooes, outdoor running shoes, and cleats), shinguards, soccer socks, water bottle, ball, and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing. Practices may include running outdoors before the snow is all melted so dress warm. There is no required uniform for practices/training

 

GAME KITS

The team will provide, at no cost to families, a team backpack, jacket, game jerseys and shorts (not socks, which must be purchased yourself). These MUST be returned at the end of the season or a fee will be charged. Players must sign the Uniform Agreement before receiving their kits. Uniform agreements and other paperwork were handed out at the first practice; if you missed it please ask for a packet!

OTHER EXPECTATIONS/THINGS TO KNOW.....

Transportation & Scheduling: Practices and game days may be on weekday evenings or weekends. Games will begin in Mid-March. School bussing will be provided to games beyond Eagle River; players/families must provide their own transportation to games within Anchorage. State Championships will be May 28-30, 2026, in the Valley at Palmer Wasilla and Colony high schools (note this is AFTER the end of the school year). Please subscribe to the varsity or JV calendars, using the "game schedule" tab above.

 

Game Day dress at school: Players are expected to dress up on game days: shirts ties and slacks (khakis, slacks, or suit pants are fine). Sneakers are fine, dress shoes are not required. For multiple game days in one week, wear your warmup tops for the second weekday game.

 

Team Communications will be through the SportsYou app. All players are expected to join this app for team communications from your coach. There will be a parent/guardian link, families are encouraged to join! Login codes and other details will be provided at the kickoff meeting. 

 

Team Dinners: there will be separate Varsity & JV team dinners (players only not families) about once a week, the night before a game (or a brunch or lunch for some Saturday games), hosted by families. Family signups will be available at the kickoff meeting. Players are expected to attend these dinners.

Tryout Conflicts

Every year there are some concerns regarding practice and spring break. DHS staff tries to work with players as much as possible - please contact the coaches if you have conflicts so they can help work out details.

 

Tryout Requirements

In order to tryout, you must:

-meet academic eligibilty guidelines (2.0 GPA and 5 semester units (4 for seniors)

-have signed up on Planet HS and submitted all proper paperwork including parent and athlete forms and a current physical: http://www.asdk12.org/students/activities/high-school-participation

 

The Dimond Activities office, upon receipt of all necesssary paperwork and payment will provide the player with a "Golden Ticket" (eligibilty slip) which the player must bring to the first tryout. Unless the Activities Office approves, a player may not try out. Remember, a physical may not expire during the season.
